Speaking Points for the Master of Ceremonies

Suggested speaking points for the Master of Ceremonies at the start of a MobilBid auction

1. This year, the silent auction bidding is being done electronically using a system from MobilBid. No more paper and pen bid sheets!
2. Use your own smartphone, there are instructions how to login on the tables and by the auction items.
3. The auction will close at ______________
4. A leaderboard will display real-time results on the screen, with a count-down timer, as well as highlight our generous sponsors.
5. If you’ve bid on an item and get outbid, you’ll receive an outbid alert on your phone, or simply keep an eye on the items on your phone and see who is bidding against you. You can rebid at any time up until closing.
6. If you have any questions or need help to register, see one of the volunteers or go to the volunteer desk.
7. [Depending on how you set up your auction]:
   1. When the auction closes, winning bidders will receive an invoice, sent to their phone. Pay from your phone and skip the line, or go to the checkout desk to pay and collect your items.
   2. When the auction closes, winning bidders will have their credit card on file charged automatically, and will receive either by email or text message an invoice marked as paid.  You can go to the auction desk to pick up your items.

During the Auction:

1. Periodic reminders of how much time is left (30 minutes, 10 minutes) “Get your bids in!”
2. Highlight any items with minimal or no bids (“Look at the amazing ABC that is up for grabs!”)
3. Countdown the last 15 seconds
