Online vs In-Person Auctions

Question:  Can MobilBid be used for "Online" Auctions?

Answer:  Yes, it can.  But there are differences between an online auction compared to an in-person auction.  Mobilbid is optimized for events where guests are in the room or at the venue, such as a gala, a golf tournament or other fundraiser.  MobilBid is best used on a phone, and generally the auction takes place over a pre-determined time period, usually 3-4 hours.  An online auction is "virtual", and usually spans many days, with participants miles apart.  MobilBid will work, but because it is smartphone optimized, it does not always present well on a computer screen (which are a lot bigger!) and some features (such as staggered and/or extended closings) are not part of the MobilBid offering, which is designed to efficiently end, process payments and get patrons on their way at the end of the event.
