Extra Fee (Percentage of Invoice Total)

Objective:  Some clients wish to have the ability to add an extra fee at invoicing time, on top of the invoice total.  Some times it is an "Administrative Fee", a "Bidder's Premium", taxes, or shipping cost.  The "Extra Fee" allows one to configure those types of charges, as needed.

Notes: 

• The extra fee is NOT applied to Donations, but only to SILENT, MULTI and LIVE auction types.
• The extra fee is only calculated and displayed at auction closing, when invoices are generated.  It is not displayed on the dashboard, leaderboard, or on reports during the running of the auction.
• The extra fee will be charged against credit cards on file as part of the single invoice amount.  If the extra fee amount is a tax (PST, GST or HST) then the MobilBid fee will only be based on the "highest bid" amount.  If the extra fee is "administrative", then the MobilBid fee will apply on the total amount invoiced.
• If you are configuring the extra fee for taxes in a province/state with local and federal taxes, you must combine the two into one percentage.  It is not possible to apply two separate extra fees (e.g. PST and GST must be combined together, and the label can describe this.)

Instructions:  

1/ Off your Auction Dashboard, within the SETTINGS section on the left-side menu, you'll find the "Financial Settings":

2/  Within the FINANCIAL SETTINGS, tick the "Extra Fee Enabled" option, and the elements will be displayed.  By default, this feature is never enabled, so no extra fees are calculated and applied unless you specifically want them added.

3/  In the above screenshot, there are three elements to be configured.  The first is the label that will be shown on the patron's invoice.  Whatever you type into the field will appear on invoices.  It will appear as follows:

4/  In addition,  it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you inform patrons before they bid that an extra fee will be applied.  That can be done by keying an appropriate label in the second element, which is displayed on the patron bidding page.  It will automatically be displayed in italics, any other characters can be added to give it extra emphasis.  It will be displayed as follows:

5/ Lastly, enter a percentage factor that will be applied.  E.g. at 10% extra fee is entered as "10.0".

6/  It is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that some notice/warning be added to the Landing Pages, as another "heads up" to bidding patrons.
