FAQ: How Do I Run An Auction Again?

Question:  My auction has finished - how do I re-open it so the run time can be extended?

Answer:  Once an auction has transitioned from RUNNING to POSTVIEW, it is not possible to re-open or set it back to running mode.  The reason is that once ended, the system has generated invoices, processed payments (or sent payment links), and send notifications to all winning and non-winning bidders.

Hint:  You can duplicate an auction, set the duplicate to run and have all patrons notified - but note that by default all the bidding and bid history from the original auction is not copied to the duplicate - it starts fresh.  Ideal for testing, but not for re-opening a real auction.
