FAQ: Why should I enable "Send Stop Notifications"?

Question:  Within the Auction Settings, there is a checkbox to "Auto send notifications on auction end" - what does this do?

Answer:  When the auction transitions from Running to Postview (whether done manually or on a preset schedule) a number of processes happen:

  1. Bidding is closed
  2. Invoices are generated
  3. Credit cards are charged
  4. Notifications are sent

If you check off the "auto send notifications on auction end" tickbox, then email and/or SMS messages will be sent to:

  1. All non-winning bidders ("Sorry, better luck next time...")
  2. All winning bidders ("Thanks, here is your invoice/receipt...")

Patrons who login, but do not bid will receive no end-of-auction messaging

If you do not check the tickbox, then email and/or SMS messages are ONLY sent to winning bidders - non-winning bidders will receive nothing, those that did not bid will receive nothing.
