FAQ: Landing Pages
Question: What is the purpose of the Landing Pages?
Answer: The Landing Pages are displayed to each patron the first (and only the first) time they access the auction (e.g. if the auction is in preview mode, they will see the Preview Landing Page. If the auction is in running mode, they will see the Running Landing Page. If they had previously accessed the auction in preview, they will see the Running Landing Page the first time they access the auction in running mode.) If the auction is configured to skip the preview and only be in running mode, only the Running Landing Page will be displayed.
The purpose of a Landing Page is two-fold:
- To brand the auction and give each patron the warm fuzzies they are in the right place.
- To provide any extra information that you want to share, but only need to display at the "start" of each person's experience. That way it is shown, but does not take up valuable space at the top of the item listings, which are scrolled through many times. The Landing Pages can include a logo, and an unlimited amount of text. Landing Pages are an ideal place for a Privacy Policy, for general instructions about the auction, when the auction is expected to end, etc.
Once seen by a patron, a Landing Page will not be displayed again, nor can it be accessed again by a patron.
The Landing Pages are optional - you don't have to enable them. By default, the Preview Landing Page and the Running Landing Page are enabled - but the Postview Landing Page is not enabled.
