FAQ: Can I bold or italic text in outgoing messages?

Question:  When editing the Message Templates, is it possible to bold or italicize words?

Answer:  Yes, it is possible within the email body text portion.  It is not possible in the email subject line, or in the SMS portion.

Instructions:  We use a simple form of markup.  To italicize a word or phrase, start and end with a single asterisk.  E.g. "The rain in *Spain* falls mainly in the plain" will be displayed with the Spain in italics as "The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain".  To bold, use double asterisks, e.g. "The rain in **Spain** falls mainly in the plain" will be displayed with the Spain in bold as "The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain".
