FAQ: Can I bulk delete all Patrons?

Question:  Am I able to bulk delete all patrons from an organization?

Answer:  Yes, it is possible, but we've deliberately made it not easy to find to protect administrators from inadvertent use - it cannot be reversed.

Instructions:  Enter the Organization you wish to remove patrons from >> right-side menu >> Organization Settings >> Patron Settings

Notes:

  • The bulk delete is only available when there are no auctions in preview or running mode.
  • Any patrons that have no bidding history will be truly vaporized.
  • Any patrons that have bidding history (e.g. anyone who has ever made a bid, whether won an item or not) will undergo a soft delete.  They will be removed from the right-side menu Contact Manager and the left-side menu Patron list, so will not be invited to any future auctions.  However, they will be accessible through the Reports and Invoices for particular auctions they were involved with.  Should the same patron re-register for a subsequent auction, the system will allow them to register with the same information, and they will have to enter their credit card details again if needed for bidding or payment.  Administrators should be aware that the bidding and payment history for "deleted" and "re-registered" patrons will be split across multiple patron records (e.g. there is no link showing the entire bidding, invoicing and payment transaction history for, what is in real life, the same person.)
