FAQ: What is a MULTI-SALE auction type?
Question: What is a Multi-Sale auction item type, when should I use it?
Answer #1: Multi-Sale auction types are when you have many identical items that you want to sell for a fixed price. Patrons don't bid on them, they simply purchase them. For example, if you had a bus trip to a special event, and the bus holds 50 people, you can specify that there are 50 spots available, that the price per seat is $100, and that each patron can buy a maximum (e.g. four, optional.) On their phones, patrons can specify the number they want, and it gets added to their tab, for payment at auction closing. Their invoice will include any/all silent, live, donation and multi-sale items they committed to. The system will track the aggregate number sold and close off the item should all units be sold before closing.
Answer #2: Multi-Sale items can be configured to sell only one item, at a fixed price. Simply set the Quantity to "1", the Max per Patron to "1", and the Price to your desired selling price. Once sold, the item is no longer available for anyone else to buy.
