FAQ: What are the required image/photo sizes?

Question #1:  What size should we provide auction item images?  What formats are best?

Answer:  Basically, the bigger the better!  Whatever you upload the system will create the sizes it needs (thumbnail and item detail sizes.)  At a bare minimum, the smallest dimension should be greater than 1000 pixels.  Square is the ideal proportion, landscape orientation works well.  Portrait orientation works, but they may appear smaller than intended.  The system accepts .jpg and .png image files.

Question #2:  What about the image/logo that displays at the top of the list of items?

Answer: There are no specific requirements - the platform will resize it to fit, so can accept any .jpg or .png (but larger images are better, since the system can downsize them, but if they are too small they can't upsize them and maintain good quality.)  Images that are "landscape" orientation work better than "portrait" orientation - but the system will work with pretty much anything you give it.  Note that the resizing is done with phones as the intended target, rather than a computer screen.
