FAQ: Delete A Bid
Question: A patron bid on the wrong item by mistake - how do I delete that bid?
Answer #1 (while the auction is running): From your auction dashboard >> left-side menu >> REPORTS >> ALL ITEMS - locate the lot number in question, and click the BIDS button on the right - if the person in question is not the highest bidder, then they've been outbid, so you don't have to do anything. If they are the highest bidder, then click the trash can to the right of their bid to delete it. If they have set a proxy/auto-bid, delete the auto-bid first, then delete the actual bid.
Answer #2 (after the auction ends): If the winning patron does not wish to pay, then:
- From the auction dashboard >> left-side menu >> patrons >> locate the person in question and view their profile.
- At the top right of their profile are three buttons - press the one that says "View Invoice"
- You'll see the items they won listed - there will be a trash can icon next to the item - you can delete the item from their account and the overall total will be adjusted.
- Note #1: This only works if their invoice is unpaid - if they've paid it is not possible to refund the payment and delete the bid from within MobilBid (you'll need to refund the amount from your Stripe.com dashboard.)
- Note #2: These steps will make the item "unsold" - it does not revert to the next highest bidder (since the auction is over and bidding has ended.)
