FAQ: Notifications Have Been Disabled For This Account
Question: One of our guests is trying to submit their email to get a login link, but keeps getting the error message "Notifications have been disabled for this account" - what's going on here?
Answer: This refers to the profile for the individual person, not your overall administrative account. This person has been "unsubscribed" from being sent messages, which can happen for a variety of reasons, such as:
- They requested to be removed from future mailings by pressing the UNSUBSCRIBE link in an auction email they received previously (Solution is to have the administrator edit the patron profile, and tick off the notification options, so the system can send them when requested.)
- The administrator unchecked the notification options in the patron's profile, possibly at the patron's request, or because the patron's email was "bouncing" (Solution is to have the administrator edit the patron profile, and tick off the notification options, so the system can send them when requested.)
- The patron was using their corporate email to receive the login invitations, and the system is pre-assessing all links in the email to check for "phishing". This is especially true for Office 365 users with MS Defender Safelinks enabled (The solution is to have the company's IT department add https://mobilbid.co/* to the Do not rewrite the following URLs list. Alternatively, use a personal email account or phone that is not using the corporate email system.)
