FAQ: What is a LIVE auction item type?

Question:  What is a Live auction item type, when should I use it?

Answer:  Live auction items, sometimes called "raise the paddle" items,  are auctioned off "live", by an auctioneer in front of the assembled crowd.  MobilBid allows you to list items for patrons to review and tag as favourites, but not bid on.  When the items are auctioned off, the administrator can choose to use the tools in the backend to assign the item and winning bid amount to the winning bidder.  The amount gets added to their tab, for payment at auction closing.  Their invoice will include any/all silent, live, donation and multi-sale items they committed to.  Once assigned, the winning bidder's name and amount will be displayed on the leaderboards and patron phones.

Important Note:  Live auction winning bids MUST be assigned by the administrator BEFORE the auction closes and invoices are generated.
